We are excited to introduce Lou Black as the newest of counsel attorney at Perdue & Kidd. Lou's impressive background and passion for law make her a fantastic addition to our team. Here’s a look into her journey and what she brings to our firm.
A Rich Legal Background
Lou Black’s path to becoming a lawyer was inspired by her grandfather, who was the first lawyer she ever knew. His influence was profound, leading Lou to decide at a very young age that she wanted to follow in his footsteps. Her commitment to this goal only strengthened as she approached law school, where she thrived and confirmed her passion for the law. With 30 years of experience under her belt, Lou has found immense fulfillment in her legal career, a sentiment that is evident in her enthusiasm and dedication.
Joining Perdue & Kidd
Lou’s decision to join Perdue & Kidd as of counsel was driven by her admiration for the firm’s exceptional attorneys. Having previously worked with Don Kidd and Jim Perdue on various cases, Lou was impressed by their brilliance and the success they achieved together. When the opportunity arose to join Perdue & Kidd, Lou didn’t hesitate. She recognized the chance to be part of a team that shares her commitment to excellence and client advocacy.
Goals and Aspirations
At Perdue & Kidd, Lou looks forward to expanding her practice and tackling new types of cases. She is eager to continue learning and improving her skills as a lawyer. Lou is particularly focused on enhancing her advocacy abilities, both in court and in client interactions. Her goal is to grow professionally and personally, ensuring she provides the best possible service to her clients.
Approach to Practicing Law
Lou's approach to law is grounded in a commitment to doing her best for her clients. She strives to go the extra mile, think creatively, and make the legal process as positive as possible for those she represents. While not every case ends in a win, Lou aims to ensure that every client feels their experience with her is a victory in its own right. This client-centered philosophy aligns perfectly with Perdue & Kidd’s values and mission.
Practicing in New Mexico
Although Lou has been a Texas lawyer for nearly three decades, the past eight years of her practice have been in New Mexico. Her journey in New Mexico began when a friend asked her to co-counsel in a toxic tort case in Santa Fe. The experience was transformative, prompting Lou to become licensed in New Mexico in 2019. Since then, she has dedicated her practice to the Santa Fe area and its surroundings. Practicing law in New Mexico has been a unique and rewarding experience for Lou, adding a rich layer to her already diverse career.
We are thrilled to welcome Lou Black to Perdue & Kidd. Her wealth of experience, passion for the law, and client-focused approach make her a valuable asset to our firm. We look forward to the innovative contributions she will bring and the continued success she will achieve with us.
