Meet Donald H. Kidd

Donald Kidd has over 30 years of legal experience and is board-certified in Personal Injury Trial Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization, a distinction granted to less than 10% of lawyers.

Journey To Excellence

After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin with his Bachelor of Business Administration, Mr. Kidd attended South Texas College of Law–Houston. During his studies there, he was inducted into the Order of the Lytae, a prestigious legal honor society, and the Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity. He achieved the Dean’s List each semester, was the Vanderbilt Invitational Moot Court Champion, and graduated with his Juris Doctorate summa cum laude in 1991.

In addition to being licensed to practice law in Texas and New Mexico state courts, Mr. Kidd is admitted to practice in the United States District Courts for the Southern, Northern, and Eastern Districts of Texas, the United States Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, and the United States Supreme Court. He has also appeared pro hac vice before state courts in California and Missouri.

Years of Experience

Mr. Kidd first practiced law at Fulbright & Jaworski, LLP in Houston as an associate representing defendants in personal injury and products liability cases. After five years, Mr. Kidd decided to devote his talents to representing personal injury victims and became a Senior Trial Lawyer at a large plaintiff’s personal injury law firm. Eleven years later, Mr. Kidd joined with Jim Perdue, Jr. to found PERDUE & KIDD, a law firm dedicated to pursuing justice for personal injury victims and businesses who have been harmed by the negligence of others. Mr. Kidd represents clients in cases arising from car crashes, truck wrecks, workplace fires and explosions, and defective products, among others.

Professional Leadership

Mr. Kidd is currently president of the Houston Chapter of the American Board of Trial Advocates, an organization devoted to the protection of all citizen’s right to trial by jury. He is a former president of the Houston Trial Lawyers Association, a past Vice President of Communications and Director of the Texas Trial Lawyers Association, and former panel chair of the State Bar of Texas Grievance Committee. He is a former member of the Exam Committee for the Texas Board of Legal Specialization Personal Injury Trial. Mr. Kidd is a member of the American Association for Justice, Houston Bar Association, Texas Center for Legal Ethics and Professionalism, and College of the State Bar of Texas. He is a Life Fellow of both the Houston Bar Foundation and the Texas Bar Foundation.

Mr. Kidd has been listed as a Texas SuperLawyer by Texas Monthly Magazine every year since 2004. He was named one of the “Best Layers for the People” by H Texas Magazine 2006 through 2009 and is rated “AV Preeminent” by the Martindale-Hubble peer review.

When not in the office, Mr. Kidd very much enjoys spending time with his family and playing golf. He is an active member of Chapelwood United Methodist Church. He is married to Tammy Kidd and has one daughter and one son.
